  • Can you deduct your fees from my refund?

    Yes, we can. The ATO will send your refund directly to our trust account. From there we will directly deposit your refund less your fees into your nominated bank account. You are also able to pay our fees by direct bank deposit, cash, cheque or credit card.
  • Can I just send my paperwork and not come in?

    Yes, you can. We actually prefer email! We will let you know once we have received your paperwork either by mail or email. We are happy to communicate with you in whatever form of correspondence you prefer.
  • Can you see me after business hours?

    Yes, we can. We know you are busy so we do offer after hours appointments at our office, or we can come to you depending on your location and availability.
  • How do I change accountants?

    We contact your accountant and organise to have your records sent to us. It's as easy as that! If you are unhappy with your accountant, you should make the move.
  • I have more than one tax return outstanding - are you able to help me?

    We sure can! Our team of specialists will be more than happy to assist you in making your lodgements up-to-date.
  • How long does it take the ATO to process my tax refund?

    Generally the ATO take up to 14 days to process tax returns, however, their processing standard for individual tax returns is 28 days. These time frames can vary depending on other circumstances.
  • How long do I need to keep my tax records?

    Generally, you must keep your written evidence of income and expenses for five years from the date you lodge your tax return or is due to be lodged. Special guidelines apply to depreciable assets and individuals with simple tax affairs. Please feel free to contact our office if you are unsure or would like further information as we'd be more than happy to assist you.

SMSF Audits:

  • Is this an annual requirement?

    As a trustee of an SMSF you must appoint an independent SMSF Auditor to audit your Self-Managed Super Fund every year.
  • Do I need to provide a Trust Deed for my Super Fund to my SMSF Auditor?

    Yes, your SMSF Auditor requires a copy of your trust deed for their file which explains many aspects of how the Super Fund is being maintained and has key data like when the fund commenced and confirms who the trustee is.
  • Do I need to complete an ATO Trustee Declaration Form as a Trustee of the Super Fund?

    Yes, you are required to complete and sign an ATO Trustee Declaration Form if your SMSF was established after 1 July 2007.
